Doctrinal Statement of Chicagoland Gospel Chapel
- The Bible: We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, serving as the ultimate guide for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
- The Trinity: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
- God the Father: We believe in God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, who is sovereign overall and desires a personal relationship with His creation (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:19).
- Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return in power and glory (John 1:1-14; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
- The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers, enabling them to live godly lives, convicting the world of sin, and equipping the church for ministry (John 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23).
- Salvation: We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned by good works but is freely given to all who repent and believe (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10).
- The Church: We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, called to worship God, grow in faith, and share the Gospel with the world (Ephesians 1:22-23; Matthew 28:19-20).
- The Sacraments: We believe in the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are outward signs of inward grace and acts of obedience to Christ’s commands (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
- Christian Living: We believe that believers are called to live lives that reflect Christ’s character, marked by love, holiness, and service to others (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:12-17).
- Eternity: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved to eternal life in heaven and the lost to eternal separation from God in hell (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15).
- The Second Coming: We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom, bringing ultimate justice and restoration (Acts 1:11; Revelation 22:12-13).
